About Miranda
With more than 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I’ve had the privilege of
walking alongside countless individuals on their healing journeys. I specialize in working
with adolescent girls (16+) and women. I take a holistic approach that goes beyond simply
managing symptoms. I help clients uncover the root causes of their challenges and tap into
their own ability to heal.
I take pride in my authenticity as a therapist. Connection is at the heart of my work and I
approach the therapeutic relationship with empathy, validation, and gentle guidance to help
clients explore emotions, notice patterns, and build self-awareness. I’ll meet you where you
are-whether you’re just starting to dip your toes into therapy, working on steady progress
you’ve already made, or facing bigger challenges in your life and you want to start digging
deeper. Healing isn’t linear, and I encourage clients to be patient with themselves throughout
the process. My intention as your therapist is to walk alongside you—not ahead of you. This is
your journey and I value creating a space where you feel truly seen and understood. Many of my
clients have said they appreciate my authenticity, genuine humanity, and my down-to-earth presence.
I work with a wide range of concerns, including recovering from trauma, managing mood and
stress, navigating attachment patterns, building self-esteem, healing from relational
abuse, increasing self-reflection and awareness, managing complex relationships, coping
with divorce, addressing parenting challenges, resolving issues within immediate or extended
families, adjusting to college transitions, and navigating major life changes.
As a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), I use a blend of therapeutic
and holistic approaches to support both the mind and body. I combine practical strategies,
to address unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and teach emotion regulation skills to help you
manage feelings effectively. I also teach mindfulness and acceptance techniques to help you
stay grounded both in and out of session. Trauma-informed therapies and Brainspotting may be
integrated to explore deeper emotions and past experiences when desired. I draw on humanistic
principles to foster connection, personal growth, and self-understanding.
Holistic practices—like nutrition, lifestyle adjustments, and self-care—are woven in to
promote balance, resilience, and overall well-being. Throughout our work, you remain the
leader of your therapy, and no intervention will be introduced unless you feel comfortable with it.
So, with all of that being said, who am I outside of the therapy office? I grew up in the
Wausau area. I am married and have one adult son. I love spending time outdoors—gardening,
doing yardwork, tending to my indoor plants (you might even spot one or two in my
office!), hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, or photographing the natural world. Being in
nature is an important part of caring for my mental and physical well-being, along with yoga,
strength training, attending my own therapy, reading, and making choices that nourish my body and mind.
I’ve faced my own challenges and navigated difficult times throughout my life. With the support
of my own amazing therapist, I have been able to work on my own healing and continue moving
forward. One guiding principle in my practice is to “become the person you needed,” a philosophy
I carry with me as I walk alongside clients on their healing journeys. I believe that, just as
nature renews itself, people can also restore and heal when they slow down, listen inward, and
create space for growth.
